Braille Lego Blocks:
Motivated by ideas from blind people, LEGO will pilot a innovation that can help blind and visually impaired children learn through play using LEGO® bricks. With tons of audiobooks and computer programs available, fewer kids are learning to read Braille. Braille users often are more independent, have a higher level of education and better employment opportunities. LEGO Braille Bricks will be molded with the same number of studs used for individual letters and numbers in the Braille alphabet, while remaining fully compatible with the LEGO System in Play. To ensure the tool is inclusive allowing sighted teachers, students and family members to interact on equal terms, each brick will also feature a printed letter or character. This ingenious combination brings a whole new and playful approach to get blind and visually impaired children interested in learning Braille, enabling them to develop a breadth of skills needed to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced world.

The Make a Wish NLF Draft Pick :
13-year-old Reilly Hoagland, who is battling cystic fibrosis was selected by the New Jersey Devils in their NHL Draft, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When he was asked by Make-A-Wish “If you could have one wish, what would it be?" Reilly knew he wanted to become a New Jersey Devil.
His wish was granted as a surprise outside his family home, where the Devils' mascot "NJ" and Devils' alumni Bruce Driver and Grant Marshall presented him with a contract, his own jersey, and a special video message from GM and Executive Vice President Tom Fitzgerald welcoming Reilly to the team. His special day also included pickup hockey with NJ, Driver and Marshall in the family driveway.
Due to current public health concerns amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Reilly's in-arena experience at Prudential Center will take place when it is once again safe to do so.

How It Works: Each month, join us for a fun walk with a doctor from the Chilton Medical Center community. For the first few minutes, the doctor will give a brief presentation on an important health topic. Then, for the remainder of the hour, participants will go for a walk together. The doctor will walk with you too!
